In a revolutionary move, Youtube is all set to conduct its first ever live music award ceremony on November 3 in New York.
The live event will feature performances across the globe from stalwarts in the music industry. The event will be hosted by American actor and musician Jason Schwartzman.
Lady Gaga, Eminem, Arcade Fire, along with YouTube-native stars including CDZA and Lindsey Stirling will perform from different cities across the globe. However, the main event will be held in New York.
Today, Youtube revealed the nominations for the awards. The fans will vote and be the deciding factor on who wins these awards.
The winners will be decided on the basis of shares and views on the videos.
Nominations include six categories:
1. Artist of the year
2. Response of the year
3. YouTube phenomenon
4. YouTube breakthrough
5. Innovation of the year
6. Video of the year
The nominees were selected on the basis of stats collected by YouTube between September 2012 and August 2013.
