Xiaomi’s upcoming MiMix concept is something you’d dream up

The ‘all screen’ smartphone is a reality and will be available for purchase next month.

Alongside the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, the company unveiled the MiMix, what it is currently referring to as a concept phone. However, the ‘all screen’ smartphone is a reality and will be available for purchase starting November 4.

It will be available in two variants namely, 4GB RAM/128GB internal storage for CNY 3,499 (approximately Rs 34,500) and a 6GB RAM/256 internal storage at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 39,500). The smartphone has been designed by designer Philippe Starck.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 6.4-inch display with a 2040x1080 pixel resolution. It bears a 17:9 aspect ratio display with is said to take up almost 91.3 percent of the front. Of course, the device has no physical buttons and offers on screen controls. The MiMix is made up of a ceramic back, a ceramic frame along with a ceramic buttons as well.

It is powered by a 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor. It is available in 4GB/6GB RAM variants and in 128GB and 256GB storage variants. The latter gets an 18k gold trim on the rear camera and fingerprint sensor as well.

It comes equipped with a 16MP PDAF rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, GPS/A-GPS and NFC. A 4400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 completes the package.
