Xiaomi Mi 5 on open sale May 4

Xiaomi is opening up its flagship smartphone, the Mi 5, for sale on May 4. Anyone can buy the device without needing to register.

Until now, the Mi 5 has only been available in two flash sales in April, after registration. The phone is currently exclusively available on Mi.com, but will be opened up to e-commerce portals soon.

To refresh, the Xiaomi Mi 5 comes equipped with a 5.15-inch full HD (1920x1080) IPS LCD display at 428ppi. It features a quad-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820 chipset, paired with 32GB of internal storage, 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 530 GPU. It sports a 16MP f/2.0 rear camera with phase detection autofocus, 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and dual-LED flash, as well as a 4MP front-facing camera. It also has a fingerprint scanner, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, a 3D Glass back, and supports Dual LTE nano-SIM, and NFC.

The Mi5 is powered by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and runs on MIUI 7.0 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0. The device is will be available in Black, White, and Champagne Gold for Rs 24,999
