World's 'slimmest smartphone' Gionee Elife S5.5 gets an Android 4.4 KitKat update

Launched earlier this year, the Gionee Elife S5.5, is now ready for a major operating system overhaul with the latest Android update.  The smartphone that was introduced to the market with an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, will not only skip a version, but will also be upgraded directly to the KitKat 4.4

The phone, that hit the Indian markets early this year, had been named after its trademark feature — a 5.55mm slim body.

Customised for selfies
Noting the rising trend of selfies, Gionee has customised the phone for better selfies. With the 95 degree wide angle front camera, taking self-group shots or full body selfies is made possible and easier than ever before. Apart from that the camera also has a 'Charm Camera' feature which includes an auto make-up mode, footprint mode, and meeting memo mode features.
