Wikileaks says it will release ‘pristine copy’ of NSA cyberweapons

Wikileaks claims it has hacked archives of NSA cyberweapons that it will release sometime in the future.

A supposed arm of the United States NSA (National Security Agency) -- called the Equation Group -- was report hacked by a group known as ‘The Shadow Brokers’. Now, Wikileaks claims that it not only has a copy of “NSA cyber weapons” but will post it “pristine copy” of the alleged document soon.

The ‘Equation Group,’ is believed to be a "sophisticated threat actor" or an “individual or group that can manifest a threat” as described on a Wikipedia page.

While Kaspersky Labs called it “one of the most sophisticated cyber attack groups in the world” after it first discovered the Equation Group in 2015.

The Shadow Brokers were willing to make the documents available to the public for 1 million Bitcoin ($568 million.)

Wikileaks has had a long-running feud with the NSA, the non-profit journalistic organisation previously backed Edward Snowden when he leaked classified information from the NSA in 2013.
