WhatsApp may soon allow you to never regret sent messages again

WhatsApp may soon allow users to revoke sent text messages. The company has been working on a feature which would allow users to revoke, recall or edit messages that have already been delivered to contacts. At the moment, the feature is available in WhatsApp 2.17.1.869 beta for iOS. It is highly likely that the feature will roll out to Android as well.

A video revealed by WABetaInfo's Twitter channel shows how a user can delete a message by clicking on the ‘revoke’ option and how a message can be edited by choosing the ‘edit’ option, which will allow a user to modify the content of a sent message.

However, the ability to revoke a message will only be possible when the recipient hasn’t read the text. This feature is said to disabled by default. At the moment, the service only allows users to delete a particular message on their device, but it is still visible to the receiver. Another upcoming feature on WhatsApp will enable users to preview content of archive files shared - RAR or ZIP files.

Recently, WhatsApp introduced it’s much requested feature – video calling. To try out this feature, users can press the call button on the top right corner in a chat which will bring up two options: voice call or video call. To place a video call, simply click on the option from the screen. Users also have the option to simply switch between the rear and front camera, mute conversations and disconnect the call as well. No arguments here that tech giants are focusing heavily on video chat apps. Apple, Microsoft and Google offer video chatting with the hope of attracting more users.
