Virtual Reality is a tough experience to explain, but a four-minute video for HTC's high-spec headset shows views from inside and outside one of 2016's new VR visors.

Views of 16 VR games are squeezed into the experience-oriented trailer, which mixes in-game footage with video of players and their spectating friends.

The result is that we see Vive users wandering around in various virtual universes, on top of what they themselves are seeing within those games.

The video includes behind-the-scenes segments shot at the Bellevue, Washington headquarters of Valve Corp, HTC's partner for the Vive VR System, as well as home scenario segments presenting the Vive as a social and family-oriented device--and one that's best served with a good chunk of floor space to roam around in.

The $799 HTC Vive setup requires a capable PC to power it and includes a headset visor, two location-tracking base stations, and two custom controllers.

It launched on April 5, following the $599 Oculus Rift on March 28, and in advance of PlayStation's PlayStation 4 contribution, October's $399 PlayStation VR.
