Vivo on Monday launched their latest smartphone in India, the Vivo V5 Plus. A selfie-focused device, the Chinese smartphone maker has priced it at Rs 27,980.

The Vivo V5 Plus packs a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB). It has a 5.5-inch full HD (1920x1080) display with a fingerprint scanner and a 16MP rear camera with LED flash.

The highlight of the device is its dual front camera, sporting a 20MP f/2.0 Sony IMX376 sensor with a secondary 8MP camera to capture depth-of-field. The phone runs Vivo’s Funtouch OS 3.0 on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and has 4G LTE capability.

The Vivo V5 Plus is a small step up from the Vivo V5 released in November last year. The V5 also had a 20MP ‘Moonlight Glow’ front camera, designed for optimum low-light photography, though it had no dual camera. The V5 Plus also has its predecessor’s metal unibody design with dual 4G SIM support.

The Vivo V5 Plus is priced at Rs 27,980 and will be available for preorders starting January 24. The phone will be available to buy, both online and in retail stores, beginning February 1.
