Three weeks ago, an American company MegaBots Inc unveiled their gigantic project…... a gigantic robot. No, seriously, these guys are so crazy about Mecha that they went and built a fully functional, robotic suit.

The Mk II is a 5,400kg, gasoline-powered monster, complete with ginormous guns and tank treads. This beast can fire a 1kg paint cannonball at over 160kph and is controlled by two pilots sitting in the vehicle. But MegaBot Inc isn’t the first to build a giant robot. That credit goes to Japan-based Suidobashi Heavy Industries, and their Kuratas

The Kurata is a 4,000kg single-seater fighting bot with twin gatling guns, advanced targeting systems and full Heads Up DIsplay (HUD). And no one likes to come in second. So, of course, MegaBot went ahead and challenged Suidobashi to a one-on-one fighting robot deathmatch.

We have a giant robot, you have a giant robot. You know what needs to happen.

MegaBot has set the battle date, if Suidobashi accepts, for June 2016, giving both companies enough time to fully equip their robots for battle, and oh my God I have shivers. No response from Suidobashi yet, so I hereby proclaim that this is the internet’s responsibility; make it happen guys. Gather all ye trolls, otakus and SciFi fans alike. Let us band together and make this a fight to be remembered.
