'Unravel' promises puzzles and a new way to spin a yarn

Unravel is a new game for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC developed by Swedish studio Coldwood Interactive and Electronic Arts.

Focusing on the adventures of a tiny woollen hero called ‘Yarny', the game mixes physics-based platform challenges with an innovative approach to storytelling where plot and motivation are discovered or unravelled, rather than simply presented.

"I wanted to make something more personal, something with more impact. The game didn't have to change the world, or even try, but it had to be genuine, it had to have a deeper meaning. It had to have heart," said Martin Sahlin, Creative Director at Coldwood.

Yarny begins his adventure tethered to a mystery object and he must complete more and more challenging adventures before becoming completely unravelled.

The game is available for $19.99 as a digital download.
