Star Wars: Battlefront open beta for PC and console starts 10:30pm today

Star Wars: Battlefront has been all the rage since the first gameplay footage was debuted during EA's presentation at Gamescom in August this year. And why not? Fans of the series got to see their world come to life in glorious true-to-form visuals, and even the uninitiated could see that Battlefronts was turning out to be an incredibly enjoyable game.

A lucky few got access to a closed beta testing of DICE studio's game, but the rest of us need not shake our fists in envy. The game's community manager posted on Twitter today that Battlefront will be be in open beta, starting at 10:30pm (IST) tonight. 


No beta codes required, all you need is to visit the Origin page for Star Wars: Battlefront here, download the client and sign up (if you haven't already), download the game and be ready at 10:30pm. That's for PC, of course, and you can pre-load the game while you wait for the countdown. Xbox One and PS4 owners, on the other hand will have to wait for the beta to open before they can download and play. Be warned, it's a large download; you'll need 8GB of free space for consoles and 11GB for PC.

Battle across the surface of Hoth, Sullust, and Tatooine in various game modes, featuring AT-AT walkers, snowspeeders, X-Wings, and all the movie references you can imagine.
