Spot Northampton's Clown Facebook page intrigues the world as the clown roams the town

The town of Northampton in the past few days has seen the mysterious clown emerge at many places by hinting on Facebook at where he'll turn up the next day.

With more than 170K likes on his Facebook page Northampton's Clown has taken the web and social media by storm.

The mysterious clown who has been appearing all over the English town has been creating waves thanks to his resemblance to clown Pennywise from Stephen King’s 1990 horror film It.

Sharing pictures of his appearances, the clown has managed to get several shares, likes and comments since he created the page earlier this month.

Classified as a public figure, the page on the social networking site has a tag line that reads, "Can you spot me around Northants?"

Using Pennywise's catchphrase, 'Beep, beep' the clown signs off on all his posts on Facebook sharing links of stories in various newspapers, dropping hints of where he may be spotted next week as well as sharing his experiences of being about town.

The clown was first spotted on Friday the 13 earlier this month.
