Sony Pictures has planned to create an entire universe of their 'Ghostbusters' films and, therefore, has announced that the sequel to their upcoming all-female Ghostbusters reboot will be all male-driven.

The second upcoming project, starring Channing Tatum, will be directed by the Russo Brothers (directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier), and will be scripted by Drew Pearce, who wrote Iron Man 3.

The Ghostbusters 1984 film's director, Ivan Reitman, and lead star Dan Aykroyd, will be the designated heads for 'Ghost Corps', a collective being set up by Sony to help create a Marvel-style connected franchise with its additional movies, TV shows, and merchandise.

Reitman said that it was just the beginning of what they were planning for and this will be wonderful in future and hoped that it continues to be loved by its fans. The new movie, starring Kirsten Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, shoots this summer and will be released July 22, 2016.
