Video game success Overwatch is adding Facebook logins to its armory as studio parent Blizzard Entertainment intergrates with the social network.

Blizzard stands behind a cohort of highly rated, popular games including subscription MMO World of Warcraft, digital trading card game Heartstone, fast-paced strategy game StarCraft II and this May's enthusiastically received team shooter title Overwatch.

Linking up with Facebook means that players will be able to sign up for and log in to those games and others using their Facebook accounts and, in time, livestream their gameplay sessions directly to Facebook. Friends will then be able to subscribe in order to receive notifications of live broadcasts when available, said the Californian game developer, announcing its intentions on June 6th.

Both Blizzard and Facebook hope to benefit from the plan that allows people to access, share, view and discuss gaming content more readily via the social network. Facebook and Blizzard had already collaborated on an Overwatch campaign that used Facebook and Instagram to reach its audience; the game was released May 24 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
