Sirin Labs unveils Solarin, a $14,000 super-secure Android smartphone

Sirin Labs has officially launched a super high-end Android smartphone dubbed Sirin Solarin at an event in London. The device is priced at GBP 9,500 (approximately Rs 9 lakhs). It will be available in variants such as Fire Black Carbon Leather with Titanium; Fire Black Carbon Leather with Diamond-like Carbon; Fire Black Carbon Leather with Yellow Gold, and Crystal White Carbon Leather with Diamond-like Carbon.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch IPS LED display with a 2K screen along with a 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 4GB RAM.  

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the Sirin Solarin includes an internal storage of 128GB. It comes equipped with a 23.8MP rear camera with an 8MP front facing camera. It is backed by a 4040mAh battery and weighs 250 grams. It has been heavility customised for security. The company has also partnered with KoolSpan to integrate chip-to-chip 256-bit AES encryption. ​

Sirin Labs has been founded in 2013 by Kazakh entrepreneur Kenges Rakishev, Israeli venture capitalist Moshe Hogeg and former McKinsey consultant Tal Cohen.
