From PC's and smartphones to smart motorcycle helmets and internet connected toothbrushes – a technological leap from just a few to countless operating systems -- the changes are profound. At CLOUDSEC 2014, held at Taj Lands End in Bandra, security professionals from all over the world came together to look at security issues that are arising from the massive growth of devices due to the "Internet of Things".

Researchers and security experts shared their opinions with the attendees and helped them understand the need of the hour. "The pace of change in the technology sector has never been as rapid as it is now, and as a result we see organisations struggling to keep up with the latest developments," said Ken Low, executive director, CLOUDSEC 2014.

"In the Internet of Everything, information security will come under further scrutiny as its role becomes even more crucial in supporting digital enterprises."

"Today, Internet of Everything represents the biggest revolution in information technology. This tectonic technological shift will come with a wealth of criminal opportunities. The challenges of responding to this deluge of information will dwarf the current challenges raised by consumerization. We must operate with one eye on the future, attempting to anticipate not only the business advantage but also the potential pitfalls of new technology as it emerges," said Rik Ferguson, global vice-president of Security Research, Trend Micro.

"Time and again, India has emerged as one of the top countries witnessing cybercrime. Along with the rise in technological penetration and advancement, the country needs to understand the need to secure the internet of things. As we move ahead in our quest to secure users' journey to the cloud, we ensure that with superior products, they also get most up to date information on the prevalent malicious activities and constantly increasing cybercrimes," said DhanyaThakkar, managing director, South East Asia & India, Trend Micro
CLOUDSEC 2014 is held across major Asian business hubs like Hong Kong, Jakarta, Mumbai, Singapore, and Taipei.
