1. Triple Point: Did you know that water can exist in all three states (solid, liquid and gas) at the same time? This is possible with a unique combination of pressure and temperature. In thermodynamics, the combination is known the Triple Point. Water’s triple point is 273.16 K (0.01 °C; 32.02 °F) mixed with a partial vapor pressure of 611.657 pascals

2. Helium is a creepy liquid: Helium as a liquid has some strange properties. When helium is just a few degrees below its boiling point  -- which is minus 269 degrees Celsius -- it turns into a Superfluid. Liquid helium can climb up walls, flow without causing friction and flow through gaps that are a molecule thick.

3. The length of human DNA: A human genome consists of 23 DNA molecules. On average, each human DNA molecule is about 5cms long. A healthy human body carries about 37 trillion cells. If you were to unwind, each strand of DNA from these cells then the combined length would equal to about 70 trips round trips from the Earth to the Sun.

4. The journey of a photon from the sun: Scientist have calculated that a photon -- or a particle of light -- take thousands to millions of years to reach the sun’s surface from the sun’s core, a distance equivalent to about 696,000 kilometers. At this point, a photon takes an average of 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach the earth.
