Samsung is reportedly working on expanding its C-series smartphone line with the addition of Galaxy C9.

According to a report by SamMobile, the new device will sport the model number SM-C9000 and will be codenamed 'Amy'. Additionally, the smartphone will most likely come equipped with a 6-inch display. No other details have been disclosed. In rumoured specifications, the Galaxy C9 could include a mid-range chipset, paired with 4GB RAM. It could also come with a 16MP rear camera, as well as 32GB of internal storage.

In other news, Samsung plans to launch a 128GB of storage variant of the Galaxy Note 7 in China soon. Although rumoured for a while, Korean Times first broke the news, in an interview with Dongjin Koh , the head of Samsung Electronics' mobile business in which he clarified Samsung's future plans to launch a beefed up version of the Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung is reportedly making this move to counter the inevitable launch of Chinese smartphones with higher RAM and Storage options. OnePlus’ recently launched OnePlus 3 or LeEco’s Le Max 2 are prime examples of Chinese smartphones manufacturers who have already adopted this trend. The Galaxy Note 7 is also confirmed for an Android 7.0 Nougat update in the coming months.
