Pinterest launches 'Featured Collections' with local trending boards

With more and more users signing up from around the world, not just the US, Pinterest has developed a means of highlighting local content and trending ideas with its new "Featured Collections" boards, it was reported by VentureBeat.

The new "Featured Collections" can be accessed by pushing the "explore" icon. Users will be presented with local boards or trending ideas from their own country that could be of interest. A team of editors will choose and moderate the selected boards every day, working with local brands, celebrities and influencers. A spokesperson for Pinterest claimed tests for the feature showed users eventually following more boards that were relevant to them.

For the moment, "Featured Collections" is only live in the UK, France, Germany, Brazil and Japan, on Android and the web.
