Good news OnePlus fans; the company's latest device, the OnePlus X, is going invite-free very soon. While it's currently possible to buy the phone without an invite on the global market, India is still to catch up. Thankfully, reports suggest that time will be very soon.

Company co-founder Carl Pei made the announcement on the OnePlus forum earlier today, saying, "The OnePlus 2 was invite-free approximately four months after its release. With the OnePlus X going invite-free in even less time, this is a trend that we mean to continue". The reason for that is, as Pei mentions, OnePlus is progressively getting better at estimating and handling the demand for their devices.

Aside from dropping the invite system Pei also announced that, due to an increase in manufacturing costs, the OnePlus Power Bank will now cost US $19 (approximately Rs 1,290), instead of the earlier US $14.99 (approximately Rs 1,020). The new price will kick in early next month so, if you really need the power bank, now's your chance. Thankfully, the price of OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X flip cases and covers have been dropped by 20 percent.

The OnePlus X has a 5-inch full HD (1920x1080) display with Gorilla Glass 3, a 2.3GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, and 16GB storage (expandable to 128GB via microSD). It has dual SIM and 4G support, has a 13MP/8MP rear and front cam combination and is powered by a 2525mAh battery. You can but the Onyx or Champagne version for Rs 16,999, and the Ceramic version for Rs 22,999.
