One in every nine people on earth actively use Facebook: Survey

The newly released '2013 State of the Data Center' infographic states that 665,000,000 are active Facebook users in the world. This clearly indicates that one out of every nine human on this planet is an active user of Facebook.

These alarming statistics confirm the Internet revolution that is underway and affirms the revolutionising of technology and IT. Created in 2004, Facebook was bought to life in a dorm room of Harvard University.

In just nine years, Facebook has taken giant leaps and is a pioneer in forming, what is now called, the social media.

The infograph released by Emerson Network Power also highlights the accelerating transition towards 'e-culture'.

According to the infographic, almost 172 million e-readers are expected to be sold in 2013 – nearly six times the number of e-readers sold in 2011. Also, more than 40 million photos are uploaded to Instagram on an every day basis that is nearly 28,000 photos every minute.

It is interesting to note that Instagram is also a Facebook product.

With booming smartphone sales and easily available broadband connectivity, Facebook is not far long from getting those few non-active users hooked onto the social platform.
