For anyone who regularly creates pie charts and bar graphs using Google Sheets, this has got to be a long-awaited feature. It is now possible to insert these charts into Google Docs and Slides.

To use this new feature, simple open a Google Doc or Slide file, click Insert from the menu, select Chart, then click ‘From Sheets…’. This opens a box that lets you pick previously created Google Sheets, from where you can select ones that contains a chart. If there are more than one chart in the sheet, you can select the relevant one and it gets inserted into your Google Docs file. You can also insert charts into Google Slides files.

The chart can even be linked to the source sheet, so any changes made to the original chart reflect in all other documents they are linked to. It is also possible to format the chart to make it appear inline or wrapped around text.

This feature will make adding rich graphical information into your documents and presentations far easier.
