If you were a kid of the 80s and 90s who played TV games, names like Donkey Kong, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Super Mario Bros, Pac-man and The Legend of Zelda would have you sitting up with a broad smile by now. They’re the gaming titles that made Nintendo what it is, especially with their iconic NES box that was integral to so many childhood memories.

Surprise--it’s coming back!

Nintendo has announced they are re-launching this gaming system, albeit in a far cuter palm-sized version, and for just $60 (approximately Rs 4,000.) It’s called the Nintendo Classic Mini and It’s almost too good to be true.

And it gets better--this new system brings welcome refreshes to the original experience with things like HDMI video output, USB power, and the ability to save gameplay at ‘multiple suspend points’ so you don’t have to hop in frustration at having to restart a game while halfway through.

The box, expected to ship by November this year will have 30 games pre-installed including the favourites mentioned above. Extra controllers will cost an additional $10.

Considering the company’s recent astronomical success with their Pokemon GO phenomenon, it looks like they’re on a dream run fueled purely by nostalgia.
