New Micromax Canvas Selfie with 13 MP front camera to go on sale in January

After launching the Micromax Canvas Xpress, the company has today announced a new smartphone called Canvas Selfie. As the name suggests, the smartphone is aimed at selfie enthusiasts, and will go on sale in the second week of January. The price of the device has not yet been revealed.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Micromax Canvas Selfie has a 4.7-inch HD IPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by 1.7GHz Tru-octacore processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The device houses 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD.

However, the talking point on the Micromax Canvas Selfie are the 13-megapixel rear and front camera Sony sensors with auto-focus technology and flash at both ends. ”The Canvas Selfie is an ideal smartphone for the selfie-obsessed users delivering fantastic images and equipping them with great beauty editing tools to look glamorous always,” Vineet Taneja, Chief Executive Officer, Micromax said.

The camera app comes with a slew of beauty edit tools like eye enhancements, face slimming, skin smoothing, teeth whitening, removing oil and one can also add make-up effects like mascara, eye-shadow, blush and lip gloss.

It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and houses a 2,300mAh battery. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and nano-SIM support. It is available in mystic blue and angelic white color variants.
