NASA launches Mars Trek to explore the Red Planet in your browser

Mars Trek, like Google Maps, lets you look at a map view of the planet and learn about its various feature.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has launched a new feature on their website, where users can explore the surface of Mars through an interactive map viewer. 

Similar to Google Maps, the viewer shows a flat map of the planet, with named features that you can click to know more details about them lke their diameter, coordinates, type of geological feature, and even the origin of its name. You can view a global map, study a polar view, and even switch to 3D mode to view the planet as seeen from space. It also has tools to draw and line and measure the distance, or mark the current position of the three satellites orbiting the planet. You can even bookmark and zoom to landing sites for the various observation missions.
