Motorola to launch Moto G4 Play in India on September 6

Motorola India confirmed launch plans of the Moto G4 Play in India via its Twitter handle.

Motorola launched the Moto G4 Play in May this year although the company didn't announce when Indian customers could get their hands on it. The smartphone is a dumbed-down version of the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus which were also launched in May albeit the latter have already made an appearance in India. 

Motorola India has now confirmed plans to launch the smartphone in India soon via its Twitter handle. Although the company hasn't officially set a date, many news agencies support rumours about a September 6 release date.

As of now, there is no official mention of the Moto G4 Play price, but the device has shown up on import/export tracking site Zauba with a price tag of Rs 8,999. The smartphone is to be exclusively sold on Amazon India.

Coming to the specification, the Moto G4 Play sports a 5-inch display with an HD (720x1280 pixel) resolution. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.) 

The device will run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and features a 2,800mAh battery with Quick Charging support.

The Moto Play is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash while the 5-megapixel front shooter comes with display flash.

The smartphone will also include connectivity options like 4G, 3G, LTE,  Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
