As previously announced, Microsoft’s offer of a free upgrade to Windows 10 ends July 29. For those of you that haven’t yet found the time to set aside your PC long enough to download and install the patch, you’d better work fast.

For those of you, however, that have made up your mind in the negative regarding the upgrade, prepare to be further annoyed. So far, you’ve likely seen far too many popup notifications on your Windows PC, asking if you want to get Windows 10. Now, Microsoft has decided it’s time to up their game to full screen ads.

Microsoft has announced that it’ll be displaying full screen notifications for Windows 10 downloads on all PCs running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, right up until that window closes at the end of the month.

“Sorry to interrupt, but this is important. Window 10 free upgrade offer ends on July 29.. Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 10 - the  most secure Windows ever built,” the announcement reads. As usual, you can choose to upgrade directly from the notification, be reminded later, or dismiss it permanently.

While Windows 10  definitely has a few points in its favour as an OS, many users are wary of taking the plunge. Aside from valid fears of slowing down baseline PCs, many users also worry about the operating system’s incompatibility with various apps. Collectively however, we believe we can safely say that every one of those cautious users is most certainly displeased by Microsoft’s attempted strong-arming to upgrade.
