Microsoft to offer free OS upgrades to China's Lenovo, Tencent, Qihoo 360 users

Microsoft has announced its plans to work with three Chinese software firms to offer free upgrades to their collective customer base.

While speaking at an event in Shenzhen, China, Terry Myerson, Microsoft's Executive Vice President of Operating Systems, said that the company will join hands with China's Lenovo, Tencent and Qihoo 360 to offer free upgrades to its users, reported TechCrunch.

The news came after the company voiced its intention to offer free upgrades to "millions" of customers on Windows 7 or earlier.

Microsoft has also partnered with Android phone maker, Xiaomi, to give selected users of its Mi 4 the opportunity to "help test Windows 10 and contribute to its future release later this year.
