As Microsoft reboots its Windows OS every so often, the Start menu also receives an upgrade. Windows 7 compartmentalised the menu, Windows 8 brought in Live Tiles, and Windows 10 mashed the two together into an arguably superior model, while also adding Cortana. But this next one might just be the best change yet.

Twitter user WalkingCat leaked a video online recently for a HoloLens app in development called Actiongram. It provides hologram models that you can mix and match to record an augmented reality video right from the AR headset. The catch: the leaked tutorial video shows off a new virtual Start menu. Check it out inaction below.

The new Start menu includes live tiles, Cortana integration, an app menu, and also the usual WiFi, sound, and battery tools. Call up the Start menu by literally "calling" for it and then just use your finger to click away at imaginary buttons, while your friends stare at you waving at imaginary fairies around your head. If the start menu is in the way of what you want to look at, simply glance away and call it again to recenter it in the new position.

But if air tapping isn't for you, another leak reveals Microsoft is developing a Bluetooth controller specifically for HoloLens navigation. It only has one button to click through menus, and charges via a Micro USB port. Our one complaint is that the virtual desktop still requires click scrolls instead of the way cooler potential for air swipes.
