Microsoft launches Office 365 Video for businesses to distribute videos internally

The service allows for uploading and streaming videos withing an organisation.

Microsoft is launching a new service that lets companies upload and share video content with their entire organizations on desktops and mobile devices called 'Office 365 Video'.

According to techradar.com, Office 365 Video is a free service with an enterprise Office 365 account. The new service by Microsoft lets administrators create channels for various categories of videos, and upload content with metadata, so they're easy to browse in companies' video portals and in Delve.

Multiple versions with different resolutions are generated after a video is uploaded so they stream without any waiting for the video to load. Microsoft Office 365 Video will work on mobile phones, tablets, and desktops as it uses an HTML5 player Also, Microsoft has launched an iPhone app to allow employees to view and record videos directly from their iPhone. The company says apps for other mobile platforms are coming soon.
