Microsoft brightens up Diwali by unveiling Lumia series at affordable prices

Microsoft Devices on Wednesday launched in India the recently unveiled Lumia 830 and Lumia 730 Dual SIM smartphones running on the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, bringing industry-leading imaging technology to more affordable price levels.  

The company also announced the sales start of the much awaited Lumia 930 in India, along with the Lumia Denim update, which brings extra features and enhancements to existing Lumia smartphones.

“Our strategy is to help people do more with stunning products that unite and showcase the best of Microsoft’s digital work and life experiences,” said Raghuvesh Sarup, Director-Marketing, Nokia India Sales Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobiles Oy. “We recognized the potential of the affordable smartphone segment and brought some extremely successful products to the market including the Lumia 520, 525 and the more recent Lumia 630 and Lumia 530.  Building on our momentum in this space, today we introduce three new devices, Lumia 930, 830 and Lumia 730, which we believe will help us consolidate our position in themid pricedsmartphone market in India.”

Combining a premium design, superior PureView imaging and integrated Microsoft services, Lumia 830 makes high-end innovation available to more people at a pocket friendly price.

This device captures high-quality images and videos, with a 10-megapixel PureView camera with ZEISS optics which is the new Living Images innovation, Rich Recording and the thinnest Optical Image Stabilization system to date on a Lumia at 8.5 mm thin and 150 gm. It will be available in India starting October 8, at a best buy price of INR 28,799/-  in a range of colours including bright orange, white and black.

With a wide-angle, front-facing camera; an attractive price tag; and slim, compact style, the Lumia 730 Dual SIM is ideal for Skype calls and selfies. Alongside Dual SIM 3G support, Lumia 730 will be available in India starting October 6, at a best buy price of INR 15,299/- in green, orange, white and dark grey.

Nokia Lumia 930 has a 20MP PureView camera with ZEISS optics and advanced Rich Recording, ensuring a flawless video and imaging experience with Living Images and optical image stabilization. A Powerful 2.2GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor, Lumia 930 will be available in India starting October 15, at a best buy price of INR 38,649/-.

All three devices will come with an additional 1 Terabyte of cloud storage on OneDrive, free for the first 6 months and chargeable thereafter at a minimal INR 125/- per month

The Microsoft screen-sharing for Lumia Phones HD-10 lets people beam any content from their smartphone to an HDMI-enabled screen, easily and without content restriction - be it photos, videos, music, premium streaming movies, games, and internet.  Easy to set up, it works simply by tapping any NFC-capable smartphone the device to set up the connection and start mirroring. It will be available in India in before Diwali, at an MRP of INR 5,999/-.

Lumia Denim combines the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update with exclusive experiences for Lumia smartphones. The new update will come with Live folders, Mobile Web Site improvements, Consumer VPN and SMS merge and forwarding. Lumia Denim update will be available on both Lumia 830 and Lumia 730 at sales start while it will roll out as an over-the-air update to all the other Lumia smartphones in Q4, 2014.
