It’s finally confirmed--Apple’s upcoming iPhone event is going to be live cast on Wednesday, 7th September at 10:30PM IST.

The message on the event page on their website plainly states “See you on the 7th.” with the text overlaid above a background of light baubles--the classic effect known in the photography world as ‘bokeh’. This effect occurs when a scene is shot with a lens that has a large aperture (resulting in what is known as a shallow depth of field,) giving the photographer the ability to put specific areas in the scene out of focus, resulting in that visually pleasing ‘blurry’ effect.

Given that the rumor mills are rife with speculations of the company launching what may be at least a couple of variants of the iPhone 7, this blurry background appears to be a subtle hat tip to camera prowess in the upcoming iPhone.

Leaks have indicated that the flagship version of the two iPhones that are likely to be unveiled, is expected to pack a dual-lens camera (much like Huawei’s P9 and LG’s G5,) one that may be capable of producing images such as the one depicted in the background of this page, rivaling the capability of what many modern-day DSLRs.

Apart from the new iPhones, the company is also expected to launch an update to the Apple Watch (which may now pack a GPS and more sensors for better fitness tracking.)
