The price includes a revamped version of the Le 1S, as well as one year of the all-new LeEco membership plan.
LeEco launched a new budget smartphone at their Mumbai event today, the Le 1S (Eco). The device is the successor to the previously launched Le 1S, with a couple of minor improvements.
The Le 1S Eco features the same all-metal unibody design, and 5.5-inch full HD (1920x1080) display at 403ppi, with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera in tow. It packs the same 1.85GHz Helio X10 octa-core processor, coupled with the PowerVR Gear 6200 GPU and 3GB RAM. The storage is capped at 32GB, with no expandable memory, although there is a sizeable cloud storage option, but more on that in a second.
It runs eUI on top of Android 5.0, has a fingerprint scanner on the back panel, and has dual SIM and 4G support. One improvement though, is the new power source. The Le 1S Eco is powered by a 3000mAh battery, but the real gem is the charging unit. The phone has the in-house developed SuperCharging technology, which uses the phone's USB Type-C and a 3A cable to provide a 3.5-hour charge in just five minutes.
The Le 1S Eco, currently only available in Gold, will be priced at Rs 10,899, which includes membership for LeEco’s “premium services” for one year, as well as 5TB of cloud storage. And while that’s a great deal in itself, LeEco couldn’t resist one-upping that. The 1S Eco goes on sale for the first time May 12 at 2pm on Flipkart, where 100,000 units will be up for grabs. For that same day only, LeEco has announced it will be selling the Le 1S Eco for an introductory price of Rs 9,999. If you weren’t sold yet, this should be enough of a push to register.
