Jio might be preparing to launch its IPTV services soon. Few images of a Jio-branded set-top box have been leaked online which show a blue-colored box pack of the Jio IPTV set top box.

In terms of design, it is a regular sized rectangular box with machine drills on top for dispatching the heat generated in the box. The rear side of the Jio set top box has various connectivity ports including the standard cable connector port, HDMI port, USB port along with audio and video output ports. It also includes an ethernet port which allows users to plug-in the wired broadband cable into the box itself, which is common among current generation STBs.

Additionally, the presence of the RJ-45 port implies that the Jio IPTV set-top box can be connected to a modem, if needed. Lastly, it is also expected to come with UHD or 4K support respectively. EconomicTimes pointed out that Jio is rumored to be adding a new feature called ‘catch up’ which will allow users to stream content from past seven days. The company may initially launch the service with 300 channels to be followed by more channels.

At the moment, there is no official announcement by the company but the Reliance Jio set-top-box is believed to launch in a few months. It is also expected that Jio will introduce the Jio IPTV services first, in Mumbai and will later roll out to other cities.
