Israeli startup Airobotics builds a Transformer-like base station for its drones

Israeli startup Airobotics has introduced a new autonomous drone in the industry. The company has named it Optimus”.

According to a report by The Verge, it is because military service is mandatory in Israel, many of the team members have experience working with extremely precise guidance systems, and the company claims that its drone is outfitted with "military-grade avionics for flight performance and reliability." The drone rests on top of the base station and is then lowered inside where it meets its robotic arm.

The company has also raised $28.5 million in funding from BlueRun Ventures and CRV. Yakov Kahlon, Senior Vice President of Operation at ICL - Israel Chemicals said, “I feel like this is the future. The Airobotics platform has provided us with a highly effective tool that is cheaper economically and saves us time. With the platform, we can measure in one day what once took multiple days to measure.”
