While Samsung is still dealing with the Note 7 fiasco, an iPhone 7 has just exploded.

Australian surfing instructor Mat Jones had left his iPhone 7 under a few clothes in his car, as he stepped out to go for a surfing lesson. When he returned, to his surprise, he spotted his car filled with smoke and the interiors were completely damaged. He reportedly bought the phone just one week ago and said that he hasn't dropped it or used a foreign charger.

In conversation with 7 News, Jones said, “Ash was just coming from inside the pants which then, once you wrapped open the pants, the phone was just melting inside of it.” However, we cannot be sure if the iPhone 7 was the source of wire.

The report also points out that Apple is aware of the incident and stated that it would investigate the matter. As of now, Jones is without the phone and car.

This is the second reported case of an iPhone 7 catching fire. According to Reddit user KroopTheSnoop, the smartphone was "running a little hot." He added, “I’m not certain, but something happened between the factory and delivery.” The burnt rose-gold iPhone 7 revealed that the display had been completely separated from the chasis and the screen was slightly cracked as well.
