In a bid to enable abused children to reach out for help, a Spanish organisation called Fundación ANAR or Aid to Children and Adolescents at Risk Foundation has created an advertisement that displays different messages for children and adults.
The ingenious ad, which has been created with the help of a process called lenticular photography, is aimed at reaching out to an abused child even when s/he is accompanied by her/his abuser.
Lenticular photography helps show different images at different angles. So, when an adult or anyone above four feet, five inches looks at the ad, they only see the image of a sad child and the message: "Sometimes, child abuse is only visible to the child suffering it."
But when a child looks at the ad, it sees bruises on the boy's face and a different message that says, "If somebody hurts you, phone us and we’ll help you". alongside the foundation's phone number.
ANAR has also made its hotline number available on the ad so that children can reach out to them in the hour of need. Survey suggests that in the US, it's a difficult task to get abused children to contact authorities.
But thanks to the innovative ad, the organisation has been able to achieve its primary aim, which is creating awareness about child abuse among children and adults alike.
The YouTube video for ANAR's ad campaign says, "Many thanks for your comments, we really appreciate them. Anar Foundation counts only on few resources to raise awareness of their phone number to denounce children abuse.
"However, thanks to media coverage and all the comments on social networks, the campaign has achieved its main objective: Raise awareness of the Foundation and their phone number 116 111 for children and teenagers at risk.
"We encourage? you to continue to disseminate Fundacion ANAr task through your likes, shares and comments."
