Island puzzle game The Witness is the second game from influential designer Jonathan Blow and, according to the man himself, it's "to sell more in a week than Braid sold in its first year."

Released January 26 on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, the explorative brain-boggler was met with critical acclaim -- and, now we learn, it's a significant commercial success too. "I am glad so many people are enjoying The Witness! It is nice to get so many notes from people who appreciate the game," he said via his Twitter account.

"It's hard to talk about numbers without breaking [Non-Disclosure Agreements], but The Witness is on track to sell more in a week than Braid sold in its first year, and Braid was a hit indie game!" he continued.
"Not to be too money-oriented, it's just great that we'll be able to make the next game at a comparable budget level (maybe bigger, we'll see!)"

Editor's note: You can buy The Witness on Steam here, for Rs 849.
