Huawei launches its flagship smartphone -- the P9 -- in Indian markets on Wednesday (August 17th) with a price tag of Rs. 39,999. The Huawei P9 was first unveiled with the larger Huawei P9 Plus in April.

The smartphone features a 5.2-inch full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The smartphone come with the processing power of a Hi-Silicon Kirin 955 chipset-- includes a quad-core Cortex-A72 clocked at 2.5GHz and a quad-core Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz -- coupled with 3GB RAM. It will run EMUI 4.1 which is the company’s version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 3000mAh battery.

On the camera front, it comes equipped with dual rear cameras (12-megapixel + 12-megapixel) -- which was co-designed with Leica -- and an 8-megapixel front camera.

The Indian version of the Huawei P9 comes with 32GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card) opposed to the beefier 64GB of inbuilt storage with 4GB RAM version that was unveiled globally in April.

The device comes with Ceramic White, Prestige Gold Haze Gold, Rose Gold, Mystic Silver and Titanium Grey colour option.

The smartphone will also come with USB Type-C support and a fingerprint scanner.

Huawei also launched a stainless steel variant of the Huawei Watch for a retail price of Rs 22,999.

The smartphone is available online exclusively via Flipkart from Wednesday itself. Customers a can also opt to buy the smartphone through the offline retail chain, Croma.
