Huawei is reportedly developing its own OS, which will be called Kirin OS. According to a report by The Information, Huawei is building an alternative OS, just in case its relationship with Google sours.

The company already has a team working on the mobile OS in Scandinavia that includes Nokia engineers. Changes included in the system would include the addition of an app drawer, redesigned icons and a new "very clean, fresh" color palette. The move is said to be a “contingency measure” for the moment, which implies that Huawei will continue building its EMUI atop Android for the future.

Additionally, Huawei’s P9 smartphone will soon be available in India. Company officials stated that the smartphone will be available for Indian markets next month.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 955 processor and will be available in 3GB RAM/32GB in-built storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage variants. Running Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box with EMUI 4.1 on top, the device packs in a 3000mAh battery. The device will also pack in its dual 12MP camera made in collaboration with camera maker Leica. Huawei also added that it is working to add new features to its EMUI.
