If your internet speed is constantly fluctuating for no apparent reason then you'll probably want to check if someone is sneakily stealing your internet. If someone has hacked into your internet then there are a number of things you can do to root out the thief. Although some are harder than others.

The easiest way to check your network connectivity status is by downloading an app that will scan your network for devices that are connected to your router. Most manufacturers -- including Netgear, Linkys and Apple -- come with their own app that does this, along with a couple of added features.

I recommend that you use the Fing app available for Windows, Android, iOS, MacOSX and Linux, In addition to network scanning, the app also come with bonus network features like port scanner, DNS lookup, ping and service monitoring. Once connected, the app shows all the information it has gathered about the different devices connected to the WiFi. It can differentiate between televisions, smartphones tablets, gaming consoles, iPods etc. Give it a try, I’m sure you’ll like it.
