Honda Cars India launched the WR-V at a starting price of Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi)
The WR-V is an all-new model based on the Jazz platform. WR-V is the first model developed by Honda R&D India along with Honda R&D, Japan, the carmaker said in a release.
Noriake Abe, Chief Operating Officer, Regional Operations (Asia & Oceania), Honda Motor Co., Ltd. said, commenting on the launch said, “The WR-V is an all-new premium model in the Honda family and features the brand’s global DNA. Based on Honda’s most successful platform world-wide, WR-V has the best of Honda technology and design. India is the first country to manufacture and launch the Honda WR-V in the world which is testimony to Honda Motor Company’s commitment to the Indian market.”
Engine:
The WR-V come in two engine types: the first being the 1.5L DOHC i-DTEC diesel engine churns out 3600rpm of power and 200NM torque. The petrol engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The petrol unit gets a 1.2L SOHC i-VTEC engine that has 6000rpm of horsepower at 110NM torque, mated to a 5MT gearbox. The company claims the former engine has the best fuel efficiency in the segment at 25.5 KMPL and the latter has a fuel-efficiency of 17.5KMPL
External Features:
The new Honda gets a front solid wing chrome grille, a one-touch open/close electric sunroof with auto reverse, front fog lamps and LED high mount stop lamps. It also has silver finished roof rail garnish, high ground clearance, chrome door handles, turn indicators on ORVM and R16 allow wheel design with gun metal finish, premium split-type rear combination lamps among other features.
Honda claims the new WR-V has exclusive daytime-running LED DRL & position lamps and the front grill with solid wing face. The large glass area offers greater driver visibility.
Internal Features:
The company says the interior design concept of the new WR-V is “Novelty Urban” that "expresses fun, youthfulness, and progressive feeling". The WR-V has two interior colour themes – Urban Casual: Black and Bluish grey seat fabric and Urban Sophisticated: Black & Silver seat fabric.
The vehicle has silver finished AC vents, door and dashboard ornaments, advanced multi-information combination meter with LCD Display, it also has Eco AssistTM Ambient Rings on the combimeter and user-friendly smart interface for automatic climate control.
The Honda WR-V is offered in two grades S and VX in both Petrol and Diesel variants and is available with a choice of 6 colour options: Premium Amber Metallic (New), Modern Steel Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Carnelian Red Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic and Golden Brown Metallic. The base price for the petrol S MT is Rs. 7,75,000 and diesel S MT is Rs. 8,79,000.
