Google has begun promoting a “smart spoon” called Liftware, that prevents food from spilling, which could be very beneficial for the people with Parkinson’s disease and essential tremors. Google purchased Lift Labs, the company behind the spoon's design in September this year, as part of it's expanding investments into everyday technology.

In clinical trials, the Liftware spoons reduced the shaking of the spoon bowl by a little over 70 percent, according to the developers. The technology senses how a hand is shaking and makes instant adjustments to stay balanced. The device also comes with a fork and a key holder attachment, that can replace the spoon, and is only slightly larger than a regular spoon.
