Google had a slew of surprise releases today, April 1, and they've just blown it out of the water. From new gadgets to software updates, to new features in Chrome, here are the ones we could round up.

Google Maps Pacman

Open Google Maps in your browser today and you'll be treated to a hit of nostalgia. Right next to the terrain toggle is a Pacman button, that lets you play the old school classic on existing roads. You need to be using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer to play. But don't worry, you can play it on your  phone too, if you don't have access to a PC. You just have to find the hidden pins first.

Opposite Day Google

Ever wanted to make typing a simple search term harder, for absolutely no reason whatsoever? Have no fear, Google has your back! Just head on over to the mirror-image of Google's search engine at http://com.google and knock yourself out. The name is backwards, the search bar text, and even results and cards.

Google Fiber Dial-up Mode

While Google Fiber isn't a facility available to our Indian audience, our friends in the US have gone above and beyond. During the process of connecting American cities with high-speed fiber optic networks, the Google team realised a very pertinent problem we all have. With internet access, we don't have time for the little things anymore.
Enter Google Fiber's Dial-up Mode. Just hit the button to get back to the placid pace of 56k internet, and you'll have all the time in the world to get a snack, call your mother, or read a book, while that picture loads on the page.

And speaking of pictures.....
Google Chrome Selfie

The guys at Google have read my mind completely. How many times have you seen something online that's so ridiculous, so outrageous, so downright shareable, that you had to send it to someone else? But wait, then you have to type in why you shared it too! AARGH, I must type extra words, the horror! That's why the Chrome Selfie is a lifesaver. Hit the "Share a Reaction" button in your chrome menu on your smartphone, and you can utilise the bottom half of the page to send a picture of your reaction to that awesome thing on, along with a screencap of the awesome thing. Isn't that awesome?!

Google Panda
The latest in cuddly innovation, Google Panda is the company's replacement for every search engine ever. Packed in an ultra-huggable, panda exterior, the highly intelligent search engine will listen to your question and find anything you want. It's even programmed to answer in a language of your choice! And don't worry about carrying it around, it's easily portable. The grabbing apparatus Google calls "arms" latch onto  your arm, so you can even take the Panda out for your daily run. It's even shockproof, as the video demonstrates, with the plushy exterior protecting the fragile inner workings. Available in a convenient Panda 5 size and a larger Panda 6 size, the Google Panda is sure to be a hit worldwide. See for yourself!.
