Google is set to bring new categories to its Play Store to help make apps easier to browse and quicker to find.

Android users can currently look for apps in a handful of categories, such as "Social," "Games," "Music & Audio" and "Books & Reference." Google Play Store is now set to add eight new categories: "Art & Design," "Auto & Vehicles," "Beauty," "Dating," "Events," "Food & Drink," "House & Home" and "Parenting." Aside from making things easier for users browsing for content, the new categories also allow developers to more accurately slot their apps, assuring they're not as easily buried in wider categories.

In addition to the new categories, Google has also renamed some of the old ones. "Transportation" is now "Maps & Navigation" and "Media & Video" is now "Video Players & Editors". The new categories will roll out over the next two months.
