According to a report in Economic Times, Google plans to launch a store called Android Nation in India that will focus on selling not only Android devices but will even serve as service centres or customer support centres.

Google will not restrict to just their Nexus range of devices but partner with most big Google Android users like HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony, Asus, etc.

The US company will partner BK Modi's Spice Global to set up the stores in various Indian cities, starting with New Delhi later this year.

According to the news report, the first Indian store will open in New Delhi's Select Citywalk. Google has been scouting for a 1,200-1,500 sq ft location for this store.
Google plans to expand the stores to other parts of India too.

If Google’s plans succeed, India will be the second nation on the world to get Android Nation stores.

The first Android Nation store was set up in Jakarta, Indonesia in mid 2012.

According to the news report, Spice Global currently operates around 900 Spice Hotspots that sells various mobile phone brands and accessories.

After the opening of the first Android Nation store, they plan to convert about 50 of the Hotspots into Android Nation stores to enable rapid expansion of the franchise.
Google's competitrors Apple and microsoft already have retail outlets in the country.

With the stores, customers can get a hands-on experience, compare devices, get expert tips before purchasing a device.
