Google doodle celebrates start of FIFA World Cup 2014

The commencement of the 2014 FIFA world cup, was celebrated by Google as it launched a doodle on its homepage today. The doodle starts off with a football bouncing into the screen and letters of the logo which seems like fans cheering. The football is coloured yellow and green, similar to that of the host country- Brazil's national flag.

A number of famous landmarks appear in the doodle like the statue of Christ the Redeemer on top of the Corcovado Mountain and also, the cable atop the Sugar Loaf Mountain. 

The World Cup kicks off today with it's first match between Brazil and Croatia which will take place at Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo.
