Google has unveiled a new version of Chrome for Android, version 52, which brings in improvements and also promises a better battery life along with reduced data usage as well.

Google mentioned in a blog, “Web video is huge, with over a billion hours played in Chrome every week on sites like Amazon, Facebook, The New York Times, Netflix and YouTube. Much of that is on mobile devices, and we want to make your viewing experience great.”

With the new update, users will be able to see smoother playback and faster load times. Additionally, videos will now start playing sooner instead of pausing briefly before loading, and Google claims that the battery will last longer too. Video will work with Data Saver Mode, which is said to save as much as 50 percent on data by showing a lightweight version of the video.

The company also added, “With more publishers and sites moving to HTML5, your video experience on Chrome will just keep getting better.”
