Google celebrates 2013's last day with animated New Year's Eve doodle featuring dancing numbers

The doodle has the numbers 2, 0, 1, 3 in a disco like setting as they dance while 4 looks on as the New Year awaits its turn.

It's the last day of the year 2013, this year has seen the Google homepage feature many interesting doodles and the search engine ensured that the final day of the year keeps in tune with the others.

The doodle on the homepage for December 31, 2013 features a disco-like setting with the numbers 2, 0, 1, 3 which stand for this year that is going to end in a few hours dancing as an excited 4 stands to the left of 3 symbolising the year 2014 which will start soon as it awaits its turn.

The numbers stand on a square multi-coloured podium as the colours change with two speakers which looks like the letter 'g' are seen on either side of the word 'Google' where the 'O' is represented by a disco ball.

The doodle reads 'Happy New Year!' when you mouse over and it leads to New Year's Eve 2013 stories on Google. Though it seems interactive the doodle is just animated this time.

At the bottom of the Google homepage there is a caption that reads, What did the world search for this year? Remember the moments of 2013 this leads to the Google Zeitgeist 2013 page that has the 2013 YouTube video with highlights of the year.

That page also has the top 100 searches, trends, 2013 gallery and a page of review of the year lists that ranges from celebrities to song lists, recipes, sports teams and TV shows.
