Fujifilm unveils an infrared version of its X-T1 mirrorless camera

Fujifilm has announced a new camera, the X-T1 IR, a new edition of its flagship X-T1 mirror less camera featuring infrared technology, which captures details that are not usually visible to the human eye.

According to the Engadget, the Fujifilm's new camera appears identical to the original X-T1 with some changes like its sensor's Standard IR cut filter was removed and an anti-reflective coating has been applied to it. It also features a 16.3-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS II unit. The remaining specs are the same as original X-T1 like there is an EXR Processor II, a max ISO range of 25,600 and a weather-resistant shell.

Fujifilm says that this would be a useful tool for people who investigate crime scenes, provide healthcare diagnostics or are involved in other similar scientific and technical fields. The XT-1 IR will be released in October for  $1,700.
